Asics x JJJJound Gel-Kayano 14

Originally release in 2008, the Gel-Kayano 14 was the first silhouette from the Kayano series to be created by designer Toshikazu Kayano. While Asics still pushes out its Gel-Kayano kicks with their EVA-midsoles, they have partnered up with left-field designers that steadily grown its audience elsewhere.

This season, the Montreal-based design studio JJJJound is joining forces with Asics for its next sneaker collaboration of the Kayano 14s with metallic panelling over gleaming white mesh. Both iterations sport muted colorways in combinations of silver, white, off-white, and black, JJJJound branding signified by subtle denotations on the right shoe's lateral heel, insoles, and decorative box. JJJJound's interpretation of the Gel-Kayno 14 is heavily inspired by the 2000s. Scaling themselves with Asics' own design lifestyle, JJJJound has enhanced the Gel-Kayano 14's performance capabilities with updated materials.
